LOCATION:              Carolina Tiger Rescue Pittsboro, North Carolina 

TITLE:                       Camp Counselor (Part-Time/Seasonal)

SUMMARY:              The Camp Counselor will assist with the daily activities of Summer Camp, working alongside an experienced counselor and the Education staff

HOURS:                    Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30. June 15th- July 29th, 2026

SUPERVISOR:           Education Director

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:                                                                                        

• 18 years of age or older
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable
• Ability to interact with children ages 3rd through 12th grade
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Positive attitude and initiative
• Passion for animals

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:              

• Experience in informal education
• Completed some Biology courses
• Passion for environmental education

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Readily available transportation
• Clean Criminal history check

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Primarily outdoors in various weather conditions
• Exposure to humidity, adverse weather, and hot weather during outdoor activities
• Walking around gravel paths and on variable terrain for most of the day
• Some indoor classroom time in A/C
• Exposure to confined wild animals, with fur, dander, and waste

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to communicate via radio and telephone
• Must be able to exchange accurate information with staff members, volunteers, and the public
• Must be able to be on feet in various terrain for up to 8 hours
• Ability to bend, and to lift up to 50lbs
