Job Title: Camp Counselor
FLSA Status: Seasonal June 1- August 7th 2026 (with opportunities to extend through fall!)
Pay Rate: $425–$475/week (based on experience) | Room & Board Included
Schedule: Sunday–Friday

As a Camp Counselor serving Overnight and Day Camp, you’ll live, laugh, and learn alongside 10–15 amazing campers, serving as their mentor, cheerleader, and role model. You’ll lead exciting activities, inspire personal growth, and create an environment where kids feel supported, confident, and unstoppable.
Counselors work together in cabins and teach camp activities ranging from ropes and archery to swimming and arts—and the best part? You get to tell us which ones you’re most passionate about!

What You’ll Do:
- Lead and participate in awesome camp activities—think ropes, target sports, aquatics, and beyond!
- Live in a cabin, Guide, support, and have fun with 10–15 campers each week.
- Work hand-in-hand with activity specialists and directors to deliver creative, engaging programs.
- Provide direct supervision and leadership throughout all daily activities.
- Step up to any other duties needed to keep camp running smoothly (because teamwork makes the dream work!).
What You Bring:
- At least 18 years of age
- Passion for working with youth and a strong commitment to the YMCA mission
- Experience (formal or informal) leading or supporting kids
- Required to obtain First Aid, CPR. (we’ll train you!)
- Willingness to obtain Lifeguard, or Ropes certifications (we’ll train you!)
- A love for the outdoors, an adventurous spirit, and the ability to laugh and be a little silly—it’s camp, after all!
Physical Requirements:
This is an active, outdoor job where every day is an adventure! You’ll need to:
- Provide a physical exam from a medical provider
- See, hear, and speak clearly to ensure camper safety
- Lift up to 50 lbs and engage in active movement throughout the day
- Be in good physical condition to bend, climb, hike, and play in all types of weather and terrain
- Comfortably work at heights and around water
- Understand and follow written and verbal instructions
