Campaign Jobs to Protect the Environment
Fund for the Public Interest
Portland, Oregon
Work to save the bees in our citizen outreach and field manager positions.
Almost a quarter of bumblebee species are at risk of going extinct, and pesticides called neonics are a big reason why. Neonics disrupt bees’ nervous systems, impair their ability to forage, and ultimately lead to colony collapse. Right now in Oregon, anyone can buy and use these toxic chemicals with little restriction.
We’re hiring canvassers and field managers in our Portland office to build public support to pass a bill that would restrict the sale and use of these bee-killing pesticides.
As a canvasser you will:
- Educate and engage citizens on a campaign to make real change on pressing environmental and public interest issues
 - Develop essential communication and political advocacy skills
 - Build membership and raise money for nonprofit groups in your community
 - Earn leadership opportunities, supervising and managing staff in the field
 - Gain the experience and connections needed to launch your career in nonprofit and policy work

At Fund for the Public Interest, we are seeking hard-working individuals with good communication skills and a passion for social change to fill citizen outreach and field manager positions. We are hiring full-time and part-time staff and have leadership opportunities available.
Benefits:
- Medical, dental and vision insurance for employees and dependents
 - Commuter benefit program
 - 401(k) with employer match
 - Paid time off
 - Excellent training program
 - Opportunities for advancement

*Eligibility for benefits depends on your position, location, duration of employment, and other factors.
Pay: Average of $16.50 - $26.50 per hour
