CFO/Senior Financial Advisor

Wildlife Restoration Foundation

Remote/Flexible, Remote

Job Type Unpaid
Salary Details Unpaid
Required Experience 0 - 1 years

The Wildlife Restoration Foundation (WRF), established as a 501(c)3 in Virginia in 2021, was founded to bring wildlife back in our national parks and marine sanctuaries through direct interventions of expertise, operational resources, supplies, and even animals and plants to regrow lost populations. WRF involves dozens of parks, zoos and aquariums across the country in realizing the WRF mission. WRF staff have developed QuickBooks skills with coaching from a pro bono CPA firm to establish WRF’s financial system. But the growth and impact of WRF has led the board to seek a senior advisor on financial management and help ensure fiduciary responsibilities are fulfilled. As a WRF volunteer, this Advisor (ideally a retired CFO) would assist in assessing and ensuring: WRF compliance with applicable financial, accounting, legal, and regulatory requirements and best-practice standards; a system of strong internal controls; budgeting and routine expenditure reports; and preparations for a successful audit. This opportunity to help a small but mighty nonprofit evolve and increase its financial acumen would be highly rewarding for any former CFO interested in our nation’s wildlife legacy.
