Under the direction of the Executive Director, for the State Agriculture Development Committee (SADC), the Chief of Acquisition will lead the development of an integrated Farmland Preservation Program (FPP) strategy to guide the future preservation of farmland; ensure FPP efforts are well coordinated with land use management and resource conservation strategies and plans of the state and other levels of government; works closely with other state agencies, counties, and municipalities to maximize compatibility between SADC farmland preservation efforts and state and local land use planning goals and objectives; substantially contributes to development of policies, procedures, rules, processes, and programs to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the FPP; coordinates with SADC staff and Committee, the agricultural community, academia, American Farmland Trust, and partnering organizations to explore, evaluate and develop strategies, programs, and funding policies to meet program goals and performance objectives; implements FPP acquisition strategy that provides fair and effective distribution of funds statewide; identifies numeric, geographic and process related goals to evaluate program performance; does other related duties as required.
