SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST (SPECIALIST) – NATURAL RESOURCES DIVISION / COASTAL PROGRAM / SACRAMENTO, CA
The reporting location is 715 P Street Sacramento, CA at Headquarters. This position will work under the direction of the Senior Environmental Scientist Supervisor (Coastal Programs).

California State Parks is launching a new Coastal Resilience Team to help advance sea level rise adaptation and improve coastal resilience across the coastal parks of the California State Park System. This team of specialists will work together to inform coastal adaptation projects; integrate climate principles into Department policies, operations, and programs; and provide technical support to coastal parks. Each member of this team will bring unique expertise, working together to integrate resilience principles across all aspects of coastal park management. In this role you will:
• Support the development and maintenance of department-wide policy and guidance to address coastal hazards in planning and adaptation strategies;• Develop cost estimates and tools to improve the resilience of State Parks' natural resources, built environment and archaeological resources against threat of sea level rise;• Conduct site visits, formulate projects and policy setting related to sea level rise; and• Develop and manage datasets, technical tools, and planning resources to support coastal resilience projects.
Training and Development Assignments may be considered.
This position requires a valid Class C driver’s license. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.
Occasional travel may be required. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle.
