Share your joy of environmental education in preforming outreach to groups and communities within McHenry County! Be involved in developing special events, building new audiences, and engaging our community members in what the District has to offer!

What do these outreach activities look like? Work with schools in booking, planning and presenting programs in their classrooms as well as teacher education programs. Reach out to civic and community groups to promote and deliver speakers bureau programs. Plan and present a variety of programs for the general public at conservation sites across the County.

What are we looking for? Someone with passion and knowledge in environmental education who can make a difference through positive interaction with others in various age groups in a professional manner. Due to the overarching responsibilities of designing, implementing, coordinating, administering, supervising and evaluating education programs, this individual must be organized with strong verbal and written communication skills. We also need someone with a flexible schedule, as this job requires evening and weekend work. Lastly, we are also looking for someone with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Education and/or Interpretation, Outdoor Education, Science Teaching, or related field and four years of related experience in environmental/ education program delivery (including one year of supervisory experience); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
