The AmeriCorps Individual Placement positions are based at various locations in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Under the direct guidance of a project supervisor, the corpsmember will assist with a variety of projects to expand the capacity and reach of the partner agency. See specific position descriptions for greater detail before applying. Up to 15-20% of the service term is dedicated to technical and personal skills training.

This is a full-time commitment for a year-long AmeriCorps service term. The member will receive a monthly stipend and an education award upon successful completion of the term that may be used for education expenses or to repay qualified student loans.
 
Term dates and schedule:

  • Term: January 19-December 10, 2021
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. typical. Some evenings or weekends may be required.

 Location: Housing is not provided by the Corps. Member must secure their own housing near service location.

  • Saint Paul, MN
  • Windom, MN
  • St. Croix Falls, WI

Positions: 

  • Agriculture and Water Outreach Corpsmember: Supporting the work of the Minnesota Agricultural Water Quality Certification Program. Based in Windom, Minnesota. 

 

  • Invasive Species Plant Management Corpsmember: Placed with the National Park Service at the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. Travel intensive. Corpsmember will support high park priority invasive plant management and restoration practices.

 

  • Outdoor Recreation Specialist: Assist the Parks and Trails Division achieve the important goal of increasing participation in outdoor recreation and visitation to Minnesota State Parks. Based in St. Paul, Minnesota. 

 

  • Planning & Development Specialist: Based at the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources this position serves to build capacity of important public service work at the DNR in the Division of Parks and Trails Planning Unit. Based in St. Paul, Minnesota 


Qualifications:

  • Positive attitude and strong commitment to service and community work
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work with children and youth in outdoor settings
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written formats
  • Creative thinking and problem solving
  • College coursework and/or degree in a relevant field
