Ecological Field Services (EFS) is a company based in Waterford, Pennsylvania which performs ecological restoration and consulting work to aid land managers and owners in effective and efficient management of their natural areas.  We work in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New York.  We are currently seeking applicants to fill a full time permanent position. The physical requirements of this position include being able to carry a 40 lb. backpack sprayer for up to 10 hours/day and working in difficult conditions due to vegetation and topography.  Work with herbicides, brush cutters and chainsaws is typical.  This job requires flexibility in the work week as weather dictates work schedule.  Travel is a regular part of the job and some projects require overnight stays up to 1 week in length.

Educational requirements include an associates or bachelors degree in biology or related field.  Previous substantial field experience in this area of work is an acceptable alternative to educational requirements.  Experience as a crew leader is important. Possession of a current pesticide applicator license is a plus.  Applicants must be a minimum of 20 years of age and have valid driver’s license.

It is required for this position that the candidate be fluent in both English and Spanish.

Expected hours/week: 40-50

START DATE: NEGOTIABLE. BETWEEN MARCH 1st AND APRIL 1st, 2026

Starting pay rate: Starting pay range $21-25/hour depending on experience and qualifications.  Benefits include paid time off, health insurance, and field stipend.
