Position: Crew Member – Civic/Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) Team

Purpose: To install and maintain civic, commercial, and private wetland, riparian, and land management projects that improve and restore ecosystems in Central Texas. We focus on biodiversity, native plants, green storm water infrastructure, and fire prevention. Crew members work on site in a team with decades of combined experience and specialized knowledge of Central Texas native plants, ecology, and wetland systems.

Job Duties:

  • Seeding, planting, weeding, trimming, mowing, watering, cleanup, erosion control
  • Installation of high-quality naturalistic rockwork (limited)
  • Work cooperatively with a crew of 2-10 experienced landscape professionals
  • Communicate daily with Crew Leader and/or Project Managers as needed to ensure cohesive team
  • Maintain equipment and tools as needed
  • Operating trucks, trailers, and equipment with safety and efficiency
  • Other duties as required, job functions may vary daily and may extend beyond the list above

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • One (1) year prior experience in ecological restoration or conservation
  • One (1) year prior experience with native plants and stormwater infrastructure
  • Other applicable experience may waive the above qualifications

Qualifications and Required Skills:

  • Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds for brief or extended periods
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Highly motivated with strong work ethic
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work outside in extreme temperatures
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to move safely over uneven, unpaved, terrain
  • Ability to stoop and/or kneel for extended periods of time
  • An active interest in environmental issues

Working Conditions:

  • 90-95% of time in this position will be spent in outdoor setting
  • 5-10% of time will be in transit, either private vehicle or a company fleet vehicle

Hours: Monday-Friday position, from 7:30am-3:30pm (40 hrs./week). Hours may vary due to seasonal and business needs.

Salary/Benefits: The starting wage for this full-time (40 hours per week) position will be $22.05 per hour.

Reporting Duties: This position will report to Crew Leader and Project Managers. The primary supervisor will be Lead Project Manager for the Civic/GSI Team.
