The Land Trust of the Treasure Valley (LTTV) is seeking a mid-level professional to manage our Development & Communications Department. LTTV is a Boise, Idaho based non-profit land conservation organization servicing southwest Idaho, eastern Oregon, and northern Nevada. The ideal candidate for the Development & Communications Manager (D&CM) will possess a unique combination of experience, creativity, organization, and persona. Reporting to the Executive Director, the D&CM will assume responsibility for managing and enhancing our communications and development department. LTTV is demonstrating a significant increase in its conservation delivery. The selected applicant will continue the promotion of those successes through communications and events, while also taking a lead role in redeveloping our fundraising efforts and strategies to support the mission. A strong focus on enhancing the organization’s fundraising will be expected. Individual growth potential within the role is anticipated and will be supported.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Communications

D&CM will manage all communications media for the organization:

• Email, newsletter, social media, and website

• Development of marketing strategies in support of events and appeals

• Promotion of conservation delivery

• In coordination with the Executive Director, publish and distribute the Annual Report

• Development of marketing materials (pamphlets, posters, etc.)

Event Coordination

D&CM will assume lead role in the development, scheduling and coordination of LTTV events, including annually recurring events.

• Coordination of the annual Heritage Feast and Annual Dinner o Secure venue, caterer, entertainment, etc.

o Secure raffle and auction items

o Secure sponsorships

• Identification and development of additional engagement and/or fundraising events and partners throughout the year

• Identification and coordination of public tabling and presentation events

• Delegation and scheduling of staff and board support

Fundraising Appeals and Campaigns

D&CM will coordinate and manage the annual regime of fundraising campaigns associated with traditional and recurring events and will be encouraged to identify and develop new opportunities. Typical annual fundraising appeals include:

• Annual Report (January)

• Idaho Gives (April)

• Heritage Feast (May)

• Annual Dinner (August)

• Giving Tuesday (November)

• Year-end Appeal (December)

Donor Development and Retention

D&CM will assume management of our donor base with the expectation of continuing stewardship of current supporters while identifying new donors and expanding our support base both geographically and across private, foundation, corporate, and public constituencies.

• Management of CRM platform (Little Green Light)

• Develop new, recapture old, and retain existing individual, foundation, and corporate relationships

• Retention and development of major donors and Sagebrush Steward recurring monthly donors

Merchandise

LTTV plans to establish online and event-based merchandise sales. The preferred candidate for the D&CM will be capable of structuring, establishing and managing revenue-generating merchandise sales.
