Summary
The Development Manager is responsible for supporting strategies in all areas of fundraising and donor stewardship. This role will help us to steward and deepen donor relationships and grow our major gifts program, as we embark on a transformational capital fundraising effort. This position will also be responsible for refining our donor-giving circles and designing targeted strategies for enhanced cultivation and stewardship by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties:

  • Conducts and summarizes donor prospect research
  • Over sees ongoing donor stewardship processes, including thank-you calls and gift acknowledgement letters and records all interaction in database
  • Supports the Database Administrator with gift processing and serves as a backup when needed
  • Conducts data quality assurance and output from the Raiser’s Edge database
  • Collaborate with Community and Corporate Engagement Manager on donor engagement opportunities and events
  • Reviews, innovates, and executes giving circle engagement strategies annually and integrates into larger donor stewardship plan
  • Organizes and reviews donor segmentation lists for appeals and mailings, in collaboration with the

Development, Communications and Marketing teams

  • Provides support to portfolio managers by leading quarterly review of gifts received and actions needed, keeping donor status and assignments up to date in database, and keeping supplies on hand
  • Provides team administrative support by managing agendas, and notes for Advancement team meetings (weekly), donor strategy meetings (bi-weekly), and development check-ins (monthly)
  • Manages scheduling for community presentations and donor meetings, as needed
  • Supports the bi-annual Wild Splendor fundraising gala
  • Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance
  • Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation

Salary and Benefits

Columbia Land Trust offers a competitive salary, a comprehensive benefits package, and a supportive and positive work environment. The full salary range for this position is $61,074 - $79,396 annually. Based on our internal equity review and candidate’s qualifications, the estimated starting salary will be $61,074 - $ 65,655 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
