Why Work for CWS
Traditional academic institutions serve some people well, but many motivated learners are left behind, including those with financial challenges and inflexible work or school schedules. CWS aims to provide a worldclass education to the world’s environmental workforce at a fraction of the cost of traditional academic institutions.
CWS’s instructors are subject-matter experts who design and deliver courses to students, professionals, and those in between (e.g., school and work) to equip the world’s environmental workforce with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed at work and school. CWS also provides people from underrepresented groups full and partial scholarships through our World Scholars Program.
CWS values our staff. Many academic institutions increasingly rely on under-compensated adjunct professors who do not own the intellectual property they produce while employed. At CWS, we typically compensate our instructors at 2-5 times the rate of an adjunct professor and we never own our instructors’ course materials. We also provide a matching 401(k) retirement plan, health benefits, and PTO for all permanent staff.
CWS is a flexible, family-friendly workplace and is an equal-opportunity employer with a positive commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We do not permit discrimination or harassment based on race, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin in our employment practices or the workplace and classroom.
