The Director of Environmental and Outdoor Education is a critical member of the Museum Experience department. Responsibilities include developing and implementing an innovative outdoor and environmental education plan aligned with the Museum’s mission, strategic goals, and newly developed sustainability plan; introducing visitors to Discovery Woods, Fairyborough, and the neighboring conservation land through creative experiences; building visitors’ comfort and enjoyment being outdoors and cultivating ideas of environmental responsibility; delivering an annual suite of nature-based programs and experiences focused on conservation and advocacy, as well as efforts and outcomes from the Museum’s sustainability plan; building relationships with relevant local and national partners; and providing a comprehensive and excellent visitor experience.
