New Leaf Eco Landscapes is seeking a reliable, hardworking crew member to join our team for the season.
This position focuses on ecological landscape maintenance, native planting, invasive species management, and hands-on land stewardship throughout Columbia County, NY. Work takes place across residential landscapes and forested properties with an emphasis on restoring and maintaining ecologically functional landscapes.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in native plants, restoration ecology, conservation land management, horticulture, or outdoor environmental work. Crew members will gain hands-on experience working with native plant communities, ecological garden maintenance, and invasive species management practices.
This is a full-time seasonal position.
Position Details
- Full-time seasonal position (40 hrs/week)
- $22/hour
- Overtime paid at time-and-a-half
Responsibilities Include
- Ecological garden and landscape maintenance
- Weeding, mulching, transplanting, and seasonal bed care
- Removing dead/dying plant material
- Trimming and removing invasive species in residential forest settings
- Assisting with ecological landscape installations
- Hand planting native trees, shrubs, and perennials
- General landscape upkeep and seasonal maintenance
- Working collaboratively with crew members to complete projects safely and efficiently
Qualifications
- Gardening or landscape experience required
- Interest in native plants, ecology, restoration, or land stewardship strongly preferred
- Comfortable performing physical outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Able to work on uneven terrain and in forested settings
- Able to follow directions and work well as part of a team
- Strong work ethic, dependable, and punctual
