Reef Expeditions, a Cincinnati-based 501(c)(3) conservation nonprofit, is recruiting members for our Emerging Leaders Council.

The Council is designed for people who want meaningful, hands-on experience in conservation, environmental education, citizen science, nonprofit leadership, communications, fundraising, outreach, and community engagement.

Council members will have opportunities to help shape conservation programs, educational initiatives, community projects, outreach efforts, fundraising strategies, and future field research opportunities.

In 2023 and 2025, university students participated directly in Reef Expeditions coral reef research expeditions, gaining hands-on experience with marine conservation and field research.

We are especially interested in applicants with interests or skills in:

• Marine biology and wildlife conservation
• Environmental science and education
• Social media and communications
• Fundraising and sponsorships
• Event planning and community outreach
• Photography and video
• Nonprofit leadership and development
• Research and citizen science

Prior professional experience is not required. We are looking for motivated individuals who care about conservation, want to contribute ideas, and are interested in gaining real-world nonprofit and conservation experience.

This is an unpaid volunteer leadership opportunity.
