Eagle River Water & Sanitation District is seeking a CIP Engineering Intern to join our Capital Improvement Program team. This internship offers hands-on experience supporting real infrastructure projects that directly impact our community and environment.
In this role, you’ll work alongside engineers, operations staff, and construction managers to help organize critical project documentation, support asset management efforts, and contribute to active capital improvement projects.
If you are pursuing a degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field and are looking for meaningful, real-world experience in public infrastructure and municipal operations, this internship is a great opportunity to build practical skills while making a tangible impact.
The Day to Day:
- Document Management & Organization: Help modernize and centralize engineering documentation by locating, organizing, and consolidating digital and hard copy files into a structured SharePoint system.
- Asset Management Support: Partner with operations teams to document and catalog District assets and maintain data in spreadsheets or databases.
- Construction Project Support: Assist the Construction Manager with daily logs, submittals, and coordination tasks on active CIP projects.
- Systems & Process Support: Support setup and use of project tools (e.g., Procore) and improve documentation workflows.
- Collaboration Across Teams: Work with engineering, operations, and construction staff to support ongoing initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage large amounts of information effectively
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, and SharePoint or other database experience
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Interest in water/wastewater infrastructure and public works
The Schedule
This position will work up to a maximum of 1,000 hours or six months. We prefer a candidate who is available to work 30 or more hours a week for a six-month time period from May through October but will consider alternative schedules
Pay Range and Benefits:
