  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Six (6) months of experience in sampling stormwater, surface water, river and/or estuaries.
  • Six (6) months of experience in driving/working on boats.
  • Six (6) months of experience trapping/handling wildlife.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license and obtain a valid Florida Driver's license within thrirty (30) days of hire or promotion.
  • Boater safety course completion certificate within thirty (30) days of hire or promotion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepares equipment for sampling stormwater, surgace water, river and estuaries and maintains chain of custody according to FDEP standars.
  • Calibrates, maintains, and keep records of sondes and chemicals.
  • Maintains vehicles and boats for use.  Diagnoses and performs minor repairs on boats, trailers and engines.
  • Assists in trapping and euthanizing exotic invasive species
  • Performs other related duties.
