Environmental Compliance and Programs Manager

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the bog restoration program; provide grower education and support; develop and implement communication plan
  • Provide direct technical assistance to growers on federal, state, and local regulatory compliance and conservation programs
  • Manage the BOGS Online Grower System (proprietary record keeping program), including providing grower technical support and education
  • Support existing, and develop new, program and educational outreach opportunities
  • Interact with other agricultural organizations and government agencies (federal/state/local)
  • Work closely with the farm planning team to discuss conservation agricultural practices and related regulatory matters
  • Assist in supporting the work of Association committees; provide guidance and direction
  • Prepare, facilitate or manage Association meetings
  • Some travel, primarily within southeastern MA, expected
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, biology, communication, ecology, environmental science, natural resources, sustainability, or similar
  • Staunch supporter of agriculture
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable working both independently and in a team environment
  • Solid computer skills, including MS-Office Suite, and confidence utilizing internet applications
  • Skill in public speaking, preparing presentations and conducting meetings
  • Knowledge of the Massachusetts cranberry industry a plus
  • Valid MA driver’s license and use of personal car will be required at times, particularly driving on unimproved bog roads
  • Ability to lift/move approximately 30 pounds on occasion

Job Type & Compensation:

  • Year-round, full-time position
  • Plymouth office-based position with 1-day remote offered
  • Salary guideline of $50,000 - $70,000 (this salary is only an expected range, multiple factors will be considered in making an offer, including, but not limited to, experience, skill set, benchmarking, and overall Association considerations)
  • Health, Dental and Vision insurance available on start date
  • Simple IRA program participation (available in January)
  • Vacation pay, 2- weeks of time (pro-rated for first year of employment)
