This position manages the Mine Fire, Permitting, and Professional Services Section by supervising staff, directing project reviews, and coordinating major reclamation and permitting activities. As an Environmental Group Manager, you will perform the following duties:

• Project Leadership: Oversee mine fire and subsidence investigations, environmental assessments, and engineering reviews
• Staff Supervision: Guide geologic and engineering staff, review work products, and support performance evaluations
• Permit Oversight: Manage permitting activities related to erosion control, stormwater, waterway impacts, and site construction needs
• Contract Management: Prepare and evaluate requests for proposals and direct professional service agreements for technical studies
• Agency Coordination: Work with state, federal, and local agencies to support reclamation, permitting, and project compliance
• Public Communication: Explain project details to consultants, officials, and community members and provide technical guidance

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree in the biological, physical, or environmental sciences, engineering, or in a field closely related to environmental protection or regulation; and five years of professional environmental protection experience; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Conditions of Employment:

• This position requires possession of a valid driver's license.
