Environmental Scientist

WSSI is seeking a mid-level environmental scientist with two to five years of experience.

Job duties will include performing wetland delineations and forest stand delineations; preparing federal and state wetland permit applications; conducting rare, threatened, or species surveys; benthic macroinvertebrate studies; stream restoration support studies; and, coordinating with federal and state resource agencies with regard to wetland permitting issues.

Strong knowledge of/experience in one or more of the following fields desired: plant identification (including trees/shrubs), soil profiling, benthic macroinvertebrate collection/identification; and general natural history knowledge. Experience working with a diverse client base in both the public and private sectors highly desirable, with a willingness to travel regionally. BA/BS in biology, forestry, ecology, or closely related discipline required, MS desirable.
