Executive Director, Central Oregon LandWatch
Bend, Oregon | $160,000–$200,000

Central Oregon LandWatch (LandWatch), the region's environmental watchdog and land use advocate since 1986, is seeking its next Executive Director. With a $2.2 million budget, a team of 12, and 40 years of impact defending the land and water that sustain Central Oregon's communities, LandWatch works across three programs: Cities & Towns, Rural Lands, and Wild Lands & Waters, combining legal action, policy work, and community organizing to guide growth and protect the region's future.

This is a strong moment to lead. LandWatch has a growing legislative presence in Salem, a loyal donor base, and real momentum on water policy, land use law, and emerging issues like data center development. The next Executive Director will inherit a high-trust, high-autonomy culture built deliberately over time, and the opportunity to shape what LandWatch becomes over its next 40 years.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in mission-driven organizations, a genuine track record of turning relationships into philanthropic support, strong financial management skills, and the judgment to partner well with an engaged Board. Oregon residency and prior land use expertise are not required, but a real, demonstrated fit with comparable dynamics and a genuine interest in building a life in Central Oregon are.

Central Oregon LandWatch is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Applications reviewed on a rolling basis; priority consideration for those received before October 23, 2026.
