Compensation: $70,000 – $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience

Organization Overview
The Northwest North Carolina Mountain Bike Alliance (Alliance) is a volunteer-led, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and chapter of the Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association (SORBA). Our mission is dedicated to increasing access to the social, physical, and mental benefits of mountain biking in the Northwest North Carolina region. We are committed to advocating for, building, and stewarding well-planned, accessible, and progressive trail systems for riders of all abilities and backgrounds. The Executive Director (ED) is the organization’s chief executive officer, responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the Alliance.

The Executive Director for the Northwest NC Mountain Bike Alliance is a full-time, salaried, leadership position ($70,000 – $80,000 annually) responsible for the strategic and administrative oversight of a non-profit dedicated to expanding trail access in Northwest North Carolina. The serves as the primary spokesperson and advocate for the mountain biking community, focusing on fundraising, member growth, and building partnerships with land managers and municipalities. Key priorities include managing grants for trail improvements in the Pisgah National Forest, overseeing personnel, and ensuring the organization’s financial sustainability. This position requires a blend of non-profit management expertise, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for outdoor recreation and environmental stewardship.
