We are searching for a Policy Associate to join our External Affairs and Policy Department. The Associate will work with our department on strategies to advance public policies and secure public funding that support innovative conservation solutions. Our department helps create and advance effective policy and funding solutions, and partnerships, with the goal of conserving ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people.

The primary focus of this position is to work across diverse conservation teams to advance TNC’s mission. The Policy Associate will serve as a fiscal and policy analyst in key conservation, climate, and environmental policy areas. The Policy Associate will also help build out TNC’s public funding body of work by identifying and pursuing relevant funding to implement conservation projects. The Associate shall have strong research and writing skills, familiarity with public agencies and legislative processes, fluency with web-based media, and proven skills in working with public agencies aimed at enhancing public funding for environmental outcomes.

The location for this position is Sacramento, with Covid-19 safety protocols permitting.
