The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE), within the Fire and Resource Assessment Program (FRAP) is looking to fill a Forest Inventory & Analysis (FIA) Program Landowner Contact Aide. This position serves under the direction of the of Forest Health Research & Monitoring Program Manager (Senior Environmental Scientist - Supervisory), and works closely with the Forest Inventory & Monitoring Specialist (Senior Environmental Scientist). The incumbent serves as a project aide in support of CAL FIRE’s FIA program. This position’s primary responsibility is contacting landowners and land managers by phone, email, and/or site visits to request permission for field crews to access long-term forest monitoring plots throughout the state and across all ownership classifications. The incumbent may also be tasked to assist with FIA program data collection, and occasional site visits.
