Company: National Bobwhite and Grassland Initiative Foundation

Employment Type: Full-Time

About Us:

The National Bobwhite and Grassland Initiative Foundation exists to restore and maintain wild bobwhite quail, grassland-dependent species, and their native habitats through science-based research and adaptive management to support healthy wildlife, soil, air, and water for the benefit of society.

About the Role:

The National Bobwhite and Grassland Initiative Foundation (NBGIF) is seeking a Delivery Specialist to help administer the Fire on the Forty Initiative —a Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP) funded through the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.

The RCPP incentive program provides financial assistance to Mississippi landowners to establish or manage grassland habitat for the benefit of bobwhite quail and other grassland-dependent species. This position provides direct technical assistance to private landowners and supports Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) private land staff as we guide landowners through program enrollment and implementation of conservation practices. The selected candidate will be supervised remotely by the Mississippi RCPP Coordinator.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills, be detail-oriented, able to work independently and as part of a team and show a commitment to working with private landowners to support their conservation objectives. The position is primarily remote, requiring a Mississippi residence and frequent in-state travel to support program objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance and administrative support to landowners; this includes designing conservation plans, adhering to program standards and specifications, and certifying project completion.
  • Provide technical and administrative support to MDWFP biologists in administering the RCPP program, including activities such as software support and training, application and contract reviews, and document evaluation for completion and certification.
  • Assist in coordination with federal agencies to complete landowners' eligibility, compliance, and project certification.
  • Collaborate with NBGIF’s delivery teams on programmatic efficiencies and improving landowner experiences across conservation program offerings.

What You Bring:

  • Associate degree or higher in the field of biology, agriculture or related natural resources field.
  • One (1) year of related experience in natural resources management, customer support, program administration, or project management (preferred).
  • Must maintain a valid, current driver's license.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in the field, under variable weather conditions
  • Reliable transportation will be necessary, and the foundation will reimburse travel costs associated with the position.
  • Work is performed from home with an NBGIF-provided laptop and monitors.
  • Must have space and ability to work from home, including a reliable internet connection.

Why Join Us?

  • Annual salary of $40,000-45,000, with 5% annual salary increase (pending performance review)
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Comprehensive health & wellness package: Full medical and life insurance policy for employees, and option to purchase spouse/family medical, dental, and vision insurance coverages if desired
  • Retirement savings with company match
  • Paid time off: annual leave, sick leave, and company observed holidays
  • Monthly stipend to aid with your phone and internet expenses

Application Process:

  • Qualified applicants must apply online and upload required documents.
  • Applicants need to provide a detailed resume, cover letter, and three references.
  • Applicant review will begin immediately and continue until a candidate has been selected.
  • Applicants are encouraged to apply soon; the expected start date for this position is April 2026.
