About the Role

The National Bobwhite and Grassland Initiative Foundation (NBGIF) is seeking a Delivery Specialist to help administer Georgia’s Open Habitat Initiative (OHI) —a Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP) funded through the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.

NBGIF is seeking a Delivery Specialist to join our team to assist with delivering conservation projects to landowners and producers through the OHI’s RCPP. The selected candidate will be supervised remotely by NBGIF’s RCPP Georgia Coordinator and will work with biologists to enroll private landowners in this conservation program primarily from central to west-central Georgia. 

The selected candidate will work with landowner management plans that match conservation goals of the OHI program, enter and manage projects and contracts, and complete certifications for payment. The ideal candidate must: 

  • Be self-disciplined and able to meet expectations in a remote setting
  • Possess excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Be interested in gaining experience in conservation of private lands. 

This position is a mix of remote work for project management and field-based interacting with landowners on their property. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work directly with private landowners for enrollment into the OHI program where management plans emphasize northern bobwhite conservation. 
  • Facilitate OHI program requirements which include, but is not limited to, enrolling landowners, designing conservation practices, digitally mapping practices, and reviewing project completion for certification.
  • Provide customer service to landowners during program enrollment, progress checks, and documentation of project completion.
  • Organize outreach events advertising RCPP objectives and eligibility requirements.
  • Assist research team with data collection as needed.

What You Bring

  • A BS degree in wildlife management, ecology, biology, natural resource management, or related field.
  • Strong communication skills and discipline to work effectively without direct supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for data entry and project tracking.
  • Working knowledge of managing early successional habitats of the southeast and associated wildlife.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS, database operations, and capable of learning new software.
  • Interest in gaining experience in private lands conservation delivery and NRCS cost-share programs.

Requirements

  • Must reside within Georgia, preference will be given to qualified candidates central to west-central Georgia.
  • Must have space and ability to work from home, including a reliable internet connection.
  • Must be able to work independently, without direct supervision, entering, managing, and reviewing project data.
  • Must be able to coordinate individual travel schedule for meeting with landowners and/or completing site visits in an efficient manner.
  • Must have reliable transportation, the foundation will reimburse required travel associated with the position.

Work Environment

  • Ability to work in the field, under variable weather conditions.
  • Ability to travel throughout Georgia, primarily in middle Georgia, with occasional overnight travel. 
  • Work is performed from home with an NBGIF-provided laptop and monitors.
