Field Technician
Walama Restoration Project

Field Technicians work outdoors in all weather conditions, across uneven terrain and for 8-10 hours a day. Tasks involve bending, twisting, crouching, lifting over 50 lbs at time and walking up to 4-5 miles per day.
Job duties include:
- Invasive weed removal with non-chemical methods including hand weeding, flame weeding and shade tarping.
- Planting bareroot plants, plugs, bulbs and cuttings
- Mowing with Stihl trimmers and brushcutters
- Botanical surveys, rare plant and invasive weed identification
- Debris removal, fuels reduction, wood chipping, brush and sapling removal
- Seed and propagule collection, native plant nursery propagation and maintenance
- Working with the public including community volunteers, K-12 and higher educational students
Field Technicizns are trained in all areas of work but previous experience is a plus. Starting Wage is between $20-$24/hr BOE. Qualified applicants can send their resume to info@walamarestoration.org.
