Field Technician

Salary $20 - $24 per hour
Experience 2 - 6 years

Field Technicians work outdoors in all weather conditions, across uneven terrain and for 8-10 hours a day.  Tasks involve bending, twisting, crouching, lifting over 50 lbs at time and walking up to 4-5 miles per day.

Job duties include:

  • Invasive weed removal with non-chemical methods including hand weeding, flame weeding and shade tarping.
  • Planting bareroot plants, plugs, bulbs and cuttings
  • Mowing with Stihl trimmers and brushcutters
  • Botanical surveys, rare plant and invasive weed identification
  • Debris removal, fuels reduction, wood chipping, brush and sapling removal
  • Seed and propagule collection, native plant nursery propagation and maintenance
  • Working with the public including community volunteers, K-12 and higher educational students

Field Technicizns are trained in all areas of work but previous experience is a plus.  Starting Wage is between $20-$24/hr BOE.  Qualified applicants can send their resume to info@walamarestoration.org
