Join the MSC team, a diverse group of talented ocean and seafood enthusiasts, as we work to safeguard seafood for the future. This role is a key member of the US fishery team to deliver value to certified fisheries and spread awareness more broadly. You will be the primary point of contact for fisheries along the West Coast of the US, building relationships, developing collaborations and helping solve problems as they arise. This position offers an opportunity in the US to contribute to global ocean conservation at the intersection of science and business and contribute to MSC mission.
The Fisheries Outreach Manager, US West will support partnerships and strengthen engagement amongst fisheries and stakeholders on the west coast of the US.
You will be responsible for building relationships with fisheries, their representatives, government managers and non-profits with the goal of increasing awareness and value of the MSC program. The position requires strong collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills. We’re looking for someone with a passion for sustainable wild-capture fisheries and seafood and the skill to navigate complex topics and objectives, all while supporting the MSC program globally and in the US.
Key attributes for this role include:
- Experience working in capture fisheries management, research, policy, regulatory management, and/or operations.
- Strong and effective communications skills with a range of diverse audiences across multiple channels (both written and oral).
- Evidence of ability to successfully manage relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, suppliers, and consultants, with a people-centred approach to business and work essential.
- Interpersonal skills with an ability to work with people at all levels, motivate others, and change people’s attitudes when necessary.

The MSC is committed to flexible working. The successful candidate will need to work from the Seattle office for a minimum of 50% of their working time each month The remaining time can be worked from home. During the onboarding process, hybrid work may require more in-office work than remote work.
