TITLE: GRANTS MANAGER
LOCATION: McLane Center - Concord, NH
HOURS: 21 hours per week, part-time non-exempt (hourly paid) staff position. Schedule may vary according to needs. This position may include remote office time, with at least one day per week at McLane Center.
FUNCTION: This position will support the mission of New Hampshire Audubon: to protect New Hampshire’s natural environment for wildlife and for people, by identifying and pursuing funding opportunities, particularly from foundation grants, corporations, and public agencies; managing and directing grant applications and corporate partnerships and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements in order to secure financial commitments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Regularly collaborate with staff to identify, compile, and co-prioritize lists of funding needs.
- Research, identify, and apply for support for a variety of program areas from foundations, corporations, and public agencies.
- Maintain internal records for foundations and grant-giving agencies to inform proposal prioritization.
- Maintain an internal calendar of grant application and reporting deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with reporting requirements for awarded grants including assisting with financial reporting (training provided).
- Manage and track grant and proposal activities in Raisers Edge and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Serve as the liaison between New Hampshire Audubon and grant awarding agencies.
- Develop and steward relationships with foundation staff and corporate funders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
LEADERSHIP: Reports to Director of Philanthropy. This position is supported by the Conservation Program Director and program staff who assist with the writing and reporting of grants when it pertains to their respective fields of expertise.

Education: High School diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in Natural History, Environmental Education, Education, Business Management or related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience: Three to five years fundraising and grant writing experience in a nonprofit setting required. Must have demonstrated success securing grants and a capacity to collaborate well with others. Must have experience with MS Office products.
Skills, Traits and Characteristics Necessary for Success: Requires exceptional interpersonal skills including capacity to identify fundable activities, attention to detail, financial acumen, and a high degree of organization. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to make independent decisions, and project management skills; strategic thinking skills are desirable. Must have the ability to multi-task in a busy environment, a positive attitude, excellent customer service skills, ability to work independently, and a professional and courteous manner.
COMPENSATION: Compensation for this hourly, part-time position is $21 - $24 an hour, commensurate with experience. This position is also eligible for vacation and sick time, paid holidays, tax deferred retirement plan, a free NH Audubon annual membership ($60 value), access to pro deals and employee discounts. Mileage for travel to programs/events are reimbursed at current Federal rates.
