Salary: $70-75K annually – based on qualifications and experience, 5% raise/year pending performance.

The National Bobwhite and Grassland Initiative Foundation (NBGIF) exists to restore and maintain wild bobwhite quail, associated species, and their native habitats through science-based research and management to support healthy wildlife, soil, air, and water for the benefit of society.
About the Role
The Habitat Implementation Coordinator plays an important role in advancing the National Bobwhite and Grassland Initiative’s (NBGI) forested grassland habitat objectives for northern bobwhite and other associated species. This position provides technical assistance and coordinates the implementation of partner habitat projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Grant implementation: Majority of time will be spent coordinating and supporting the implementation of NBGI and NBGIF funded projects in collaboration with partners.
- Partnership and technical support: Serve as a liaison to state and federal agencies, NGOs, forestry and forage industries, and joint ventures. Provide expertise on policy and programmatic issues that improve management of forests and grasslands to achieve NBGI goals.
- Working group and communications support: Provide technical assistance to NBGI Working Groups, contribute to outreach materials, and support the annual State of the Bobwhite Report. Collaborate with the NBGIF Director of Communications concerning related outreach materials and provide technical assistance to the NBGIF Policy Director.
- Science & Research Support: Monitor and share updates on research related to the restoration and management of forests and shrub/grassland conservation, and assist the NBGI Science Coordinator with the Coordinated Implementation Program as needed.
- Willingness and ability to travel to support partner projects.
What You Bring
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife and Fisheries or a closely related field.
- Experience: At least five (5+) years of relevant professional experience.
- Expertise: Strong knowledge of theories, concepts, and practices in the field, with the ability to apply this expertise to complex or unprecedented challenges.
- Core competencies: Excellent communication skills, a customer service mindset, and proven technical knowledge and competence.
