Deadline May 03, 2026

The Habitat Restoration Program Director provides strong leadership for on-the-ground habitat restoration projects in IAE’s northwest region, and brings a diverse skillset and passion for restoration and conservation to the team.

The Habitat Restoration Program Director, alongside a northwest team that includes our Conservation Research and Plant Materials program directors, advances IAE’s mission in the northwest by delivering conservation outcomes through the restoration of native species and their habitats. Projects are primarily focused in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, and may also include the Coast Range and other Oregon ecoregions. Habitat restoration work supports the conservation and recovery of rare plants (e.g., Willamette daisy and Kincaid’s lupine), wildlife (e.g., Fender’s blue butterfly and northwestern pond turtle) and habitats (e.g., prairie, coastal grasslands and dunes) using a variety of restoration and research techniques.

The Program Director manages all aspects of the Habitat Restoration Program, including project development, proposal writing, and grant acquisition; partner relationships; staff supervision, development, and mentorship; project budget creation and tracking; and ensuring project deliverables are met and the program advances IAE’s strategic goals. The Program Director also serves to represent IAE to external partners and cooperatives.

The program director serves as a member of IAE’s management team and leadership of the Northwest office, and contributes to broader organizational discussions, including strategic planning and growth; organization culture, structure, and staffing decisions; and other operational items.
