As a Hydrologist, your duties will include, but are not limited to the following: Plan, conduct, and report on assigned parts of hydrologic interpretive studies summarizing the results of hydrologic investigation at National Wildlife Refuges in the Northeastern U.S. Work with biological, forestry, and fire programs within the refuge program to support habitat restoration and management. Collect and analyze hydrologic data relating to one or more of the disciplinary fields of hydrology (water quality, surface water hydrology, groundwater hydrology, hydrologic and environmental technology/instrumentation and hydrologic data analysis) to determine apparent data anomalies and correlate data to the wide variety of environmental and technical factors affecting the information provided. Contact other government, state or local agencies to obtain data and information necessary for the conduct of hydrologic studies. Maintain an awareness and understanding of the latest state-of-the-art techniques, instrumentation and technology applicable to the conduct of hydrologic studies, data collection, analysis and reporting.
