Sister facilities Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium and Northwest Trek Wildlife Park have multiple paid internship opportunities available in several areas:

• Animal Care: designed to provide instruction in the following areas: habitat maintenance, nutrition and diets, environmental enrichment, public presentation/interpretation, water quality and filtration, species natural history, training, and husbandry.
• Dive Operations: designed to provide interns with practical, hands-on learning opportunities in the field of Aquarium dive operations such as the use of SCUBA and Hookah for husbandry dives under the Scientific Dive exemption, basic maintenance of dive equipment, public presentations using underwater audio equipment and the day-to-day operations of a public dive program.
• Veterinary Technican: designed to provide experience and instruction in basic husbandry and nutrition of zoo animals, sample collection and laboratory processing, a variety of immobilization techniques, assisting with anesthesia/surgical procedures and exotic animal treatments.
