Interpretive Naturalists at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area (RRCNCA) play a key role in connecting visitors to the natural and cultural resources of the Mojave Desert. This position is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering engaging educational and interpretive programs for diverse audiences, including school groups, families, local residents, and visitors from around the world. 

Programs may include guided hikes, school field trips, tabletop and pop-up programs, formal presentations, and community outreach events. Interpretive Naturalists also engage directly with visitors by answering questions, providing orientation and resource information, and fostering a welcoming, informative visitor experience. The position works collaboratively with federal land management partners to ensure programs align with site goals and enhance public understanding and stewardship of RRCNCA. 

Located approximately 17 miles west of Las Vegas, Nevada, Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is a protected landscape known for its dramatic red rock formations, rugged canyons, and diverse desert ecosystems. RRCNCA welcomes approximately four million visitors each year and is one of Southern Nevada’s most popular outdoor recreation destinations. Its proximity to Las Vegas attracts both local residents and tourists seeking opportunities for hiking, rock climbing, scenic drives, wildlife viewing, and connection with the region’s natural beauty.
