What We Can Achieve Together:

The Land Steward ensures the coordination of land management activities on TNC lands across the state of Connecticut. This work includes maintenance of preserve areas and infrastructure frequented by the visiting public, maintenance of tools and equipment, the operation of heavy machinery, and assisting with habitat management. The Land Steward will perform annual preserve & easement monitoring, which involves communications with landowners and partners, ground and remote surveys, reviewing and upholding conservation restrictions (easements), submitting reports, and addressing legal/management issues in a timely manner. The Land Steward will work with and manage volunteers and lead small field crews to complete projects. Other duties will include trail maintenance, GIS data collection in Field Maps, and interacting with the public.

 We’re Looking for You:

The Land Steward will perform and participate in preserve and easement operations including the maintenance, management, and coordination of conservation programs across the state of Connecticut. Come join TNC and apply today!

What You’ll Bring:

• AS/Technical or vocational degree in science-related field and 1-year related experience in custodial and ecological land management or similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with natural systems.
• Experience in ecological land management principles.
• Experience operating and or repairing various types of equipment and machinery.
