Watershed Progressive is hiring a Senior Licensed Landscape Architect to lead regenerative, water-centered landscape projects right here in the beautiful Ojai Valley!
Join our small, mission-driven team in advancing “connecting communities with their watersheds through integrated strategies for a healthy, resilient future.” Based in Ojai, you'll design climate-resilient landscapes that capture and reuse water, restore native habitats, and enhance local watersheds—work that directly benefits the Ojai community, Los Padres National Forest surroundings, and Ventura County's ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead site assessments, landscape design, and construction documentation for regenerative projects.
- Develop Water Management Plans integrating stormwater management, greywater reuse, rainwater harvesting, bioswales, rain gardens, and low-impact development (LID).
- Coordinate with clients, engineers, architects, contractors, and community stakeholders.
- Oversee landscape construction administration and support design-build teams.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to multidisciplinary collaboration.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Landscape Architecture.
- Active California Landscape Architect license.
- 7+ years of professional experience in landscape architecture and design leadership.
- Strong experience in stormwater engineering/management, Low Impact Design (LID), and water reuse systems (this is a core requirement—ideal candidate blends landscape architecture with practical stormwater expertise).
- High proficiency in AutoCAD (Land-FX preferred); advanced Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Knowledge of grading, drainage, California native plants, regional conditions, planting design, and irrigation.
- Excellent communication, self-motivation, and ability to work independently or remotely/onsite.
Preferred / Plus Skills:
- Holistic, nature-based, regenerative design experience.
- SketchUp, Rhino, or 3D modeling.
- Project management, mentoring, or public/community-based projects.
