Title: Landscape Foreperson

Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience. 

Plan it Wild is a sustainable landscape company that transforms private yards and commercial landscapes into beautiful native habitats that increase biodiversity, carbon capture, and absorb stormwater.  Our brand of ecological landscaping is a simplified approach to restoring native plants and habitats on your land.  We want each customer to get a personal experience from us and to know the value of rewilding their land.  We also only maintain yards with electric-powered equipment.  

We are looking for a hard-working, responsible Landscape Foreperson experienced in managing and directing our labor force on all planting and maintenance installation contracts. The overarching goal for the Foreperson is to ensure that Plan it Wild horticultural crews are well managed and directed. This includes managing crew schedules, all job tasks and responsibilities, and ability to manage all aspects of a planting project from start to finish. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage & direct two horticulture crews on landscaping projects ranging from $10,000 - $100,000
• Support crews for management of invasive plants and sustainable property management 
• Demonstrate & teach proper planning, site preparation and planting techniques based on current standards for large and small-scale installations of native trees, shrubs, and herbaceous material
• Develop system to execute BMP’s for PiW ecological gardening techniques
• Operate commercial grade landscape equipment, machines, trucks & trailers.
• Working within a team in a professional manner

REQUIREMENTS:

• Driver’s license & the ability to drive trucks, back-up trailers, & operate landscape equipment
• Experience in managing a horticultural field crew on large projects is a must
• Enjoy physical labor and working with a team
• Demonstrates the ability to operate excavation equipment

PREFERRED:

• Good communication skills and comfort working with clients and crew in a fast paced environment
• Horticultural, botanical, or ecological experience, with familiarity of northeastern Eco region 59C native plants and natural habitats is a plus
