Your responsibilities will include a wide range of landscape architecture and water-centered design tasks, including site assessments; client and consultant coordination; preparing construction documents; developing Water Management Plans; and integrating regenerative design strategies such as stormwater management, water reuse, and climate-appropriate landscaping.

About the Position:

The ideal candidate has the following experience:

  • Active California Landscape Architect license (required);
  • 7+ years of related professional experience;
  • Experience leading site planning, landscape design, and construction documentation;
  • Experience coordinating with clients, engineers, architects, and contractors;
  • AutoCAD: High proficiency in AutoCAD software; Land-FX experience preferred;
  • Adobe: Advanced skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign;
  • Strong knowledge of grading, drainage, planting design, and irrigation systems;
  • Knowledge of California native plants and regional site conditions;
  • Experience overseeing landscape construction administration or design-build teams;
  • Excellent, professional oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to be self-motivated while working independently, remotely, or within teams.

Any of these additional skills and experience are a plus:

  • Experience with holistic, multi-benefit, nature-based and regenerative design;
  • Experience with Stormwater Management, Low Impact Design (LID), and water reuse systems;
  • SketchUp, Rhino, or other 3D modeling and rendering software experience;
  • Ability to manage projects, mentor staff, and lead teams;
  • Experience with public-sector or community-based projects;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

The Licensed Landscape Architect will report to the Design Hub Manager and work closely with multidisciplinary staff including Environmental Designers, Engineers, Planners, Creative Development staff, and Construction teams. This role is expected to provide leadership on project-based tasks and uphold overall design quality.

  • LEARN about Watershed Progressive’s unique approach using multiple benefit tools including climate-appropriate landscaping, greywater reuse, rainwater harvesting, and more.
  • IMPROVE your understanding of holistic resilient design and how to advance a shared vision of a resilient future through designing beautiful landscapes with a deep knowledge of natural systems.
