Marine Fish Tagging Program Intern

Primary responsibilities will include:

- Assist the Tagging Program Director in managing the world’s largest recreational angler fish tagging program.

- Data entry of program tag and recapture events.

- Creation and distribution of recapture letters and rewards.

- Distribution of tag kits and instructional materials to new and existing Society taggers.

- Representing the Tagging Program at outreach and tabling events.

- Accompanying the Tagging Program Director on outreach/tagging events, that may include boat trips at sea.

Qualifications: We are seeking an energetic, dedicated, and detail oriented individual. Current Junior or Senior undergraduate, and graduate college students with ecology, marine science, environmental science or similar background may apply. A working knowledge of the life history and ecology of local marine fish species is desirable, but not necessary. The internship will require the use of personal vehicle and laptop.

This internship is full time and hours are flexible with some evening and weekends required. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a well-established organization that promotes coastal conservation through education, restoration, and advocacy.

The Littoral Society offers a stipend based on experience and education and seeks someone who can begin work in mid-May 2018.
