Summer Camp Staff Location: 3168 Co Rd 28, Woodland Park, COHours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM Employment Dates: May 27 – Aug 8 Primary Responsibilities: Facilitate Catamount Institute created curriculum, lead hikes, support experiments, crafts, and gamesCo-lead a safe, inclusive, and engaging outdoor camp experienceSupervise campers and ensure their safety and well-beingModel environmental stewardship and teach Leave No Trace principleParticipate in staff planning and assist with daily setup and clean upCommunicate clearly with campers, staff, and families Qualifications:
Education & Experience

College junior, senior, or bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience working with youth in the outdoors (volunteer, staff, or professional capacity)

Background in science, history, or recreation is helpful but not required

Teaching license, degree, or certification is a plus but not required
Outdoor Skills & Comfort
-
Comfortable living and working outdoors—including tent camping and hiking over rugged terrain

Energetic, dedicated, and excited to be involved in all aspects of the program

Preference given to applicants with advanced outdoor skills (e.g., backpacking, fishing, map and compass navigation)
Safety and Certifications

Current First Aid and CPR certifications required (we will pay for you to receive your certification if you do not already have it)
Compensation, Benefits, and Housing

Pay: $19/hour

Training and development opportunities, including child development, psychology, student behavior management, relevant laws, and teaching skills

1:6 teacher-to-student ratio (outstanding for the education industry)

Become a better naturalist: learn local plants and animals

Build outdoor hard skills (camping, orienteering, backcountry cooking, Leave No Trace)

Learn games and activities to teach ecological concepts

This is a Woodland Park–based position; housing is not provided
