About the Position
We are a small, family-run native seed farm located 4 miles south of Philomath, Oregon. We grow native wildflower and grass seed used in ecological restoration projects throughout the region.
We are hiring 2–3 Farm Assistants to join our small field crew for the spring and early summer season. This position is ideal for high school or college students — especially those interested in plants, ecology, agriculture, or environmental restoration — who are looking for meaningful, hands-on outdoor work.
Shifts will typically be 3–4 hours, 2–3 days per week, scheduled in the late afternoons/evenings or on weekends to accommodate student schedules.
This is physical, outdoor work that plays a direct role in restoring degraded landscapes and building healthier ecosystems.
Position Duties
Work takes place outdoors in our wildflower seed production fields and greenhouse. Tasks include:
- Hand weeding native wildflower plots (often in sitting, kneeling, or crawling positions)
- Assisting with seed harvest (Sweeping seed from collection fabric, Hand-collecting seed from plants, Clipping mature plants for drying and processing
- Plant production and care:
o Mixing potting media
o Seeding and thinning container plants
o Transplanting plugs into larger containers
o Watering and general plant care - Supporting general farm maintenance:
o Spreading mulch or wood chips
o Helping maintain areas not currently in production - Handling harvested seed and plant material with care and attention to detail

- No prior farm experience is required. We are happy to train the right person. We care more about mindset, reliability, and work ethic than previous experience.
