Program Coordinator, Nature and Health Alliance
The Nature and Health Alliance is a national network of researchers, practitioners, and advocates working to advance understanding of the relationship between nature and health and well-being. Through research translation, member collaboration, programs, and partnerships, the Alliance works to strengthen and amplify the evidence base for nature and health and support its application in policy and practice.
The Program Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations, member engagement, communications, and programmatic activities of the Nature and Health Alliance. Reporting to the Program Director, this role helps ensure smooth internal operations and successful implementation of Alliance programs and efforts.
This is a collaborative, execution-focused role within a growing and evolving initiative. The Program Coordinator will support a wide range of activities including member communications, administrative coordination, program support, and translating complex information into accessible communications and resources for members and other audiences.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable supporting multiple projects in a fully remote environment. This position is well-suited for someone who enjoys mission-driven work, written communications, and contributing across a variety of operational and programmatic functions.
Key Responsibilities
Membership & Administrative Support
- Manage membership application intake, onboarding, and routine member management tasks
- Respond to member and general organizational email inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Coordinate scheduling, meeting logistics, and administrative support tasks including meeting notes and follow ups
- Perform website updates
- Support general organizational operations and program needs
- Maintain organized and easily accessible files and notes for all activities
Communications & Outreach
- Draft social media content, primarily for LinkedIn
- Assist with newsletter development and other member communications, including drafting copy, creating graphics (in Canva) and researching relevant content
- Draft outreach emails, announcements, and publicly facing materials
- Track and report communications and digital engagement metrics
Program & Committee Support
- Support implementation and administration of Alliance programs and initiatives (including state chapter program, collaborative data and research efforts, etc.)
- Assist with preparation, coordination, and follow-up for core Alliance programs
- Provide administrative and coordination support for committees, working groups, and time-bound initiatives
- Attend virtual meetings while capturing notes, action items and next steps
Research & Resource Development
- Assist with research translation and development of member-facing and public-facing resources
- Support the synthesis of research, policy, and practice information into accessible and practical formats
- Conduct background research into literature, industry, partners as needed
- Assist with preparation of briefing materials, presentations, and organizational documents
Preferred Qualifications
- Comfortable working in a fully remote environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Comfort working in a dynamic and evolving environment
- Experience with nonprofit administration, communications, or program coordination preferred (Ideally more than two years)
- Familiarity with programs like Canva, Zoom, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and Wordpress
- Interest in nature, health, public health, conservation, community engagement, or related fields preferred
- Ability to understand and simplify scientific research
- 2-5 years of relevant experience
Position Details:
- Part-time contract position (approximately 25-30 hours per week) for 2 years from start date
- Compensation: $45,000 to $50,000 annually (47 weeks worked) depending on experience, expected hours worked, and scope
- Fully remote position
- Preferred availability includes core hours of 10:00 to 3:00 PM Central Time several days per week
- Limited travel expectations
- There may be opportunities for expanded responsibility as the organization grows and funding allows
- Pay will be administered by our fiscal agent Texan by Nature
