Howell Nature Center is seeking experienced and engaging individuals to join our team of dedicated outdoor environmental educators! Our educators work outdoors to deliver high-quality environmental programming to a variety of ages. As a nonprofit, your work would support our mission to help wildlife in need and connect children with nature. Outdoor environmental educators can expect 30 to 40 hours per week, with hours varying with the season.

Qualifications:
- 18 years of age or older
- Willingness to work with participants of all ages and backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications:
Have obtained or working towards a degree in Biology and Natural Resources, Outdoor Recreation, or a related discipline; or relevant job experience.

Tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Facilitate theme-based experiential education programs and team-building activities, maintaining safety through all activities
- Guide and encourage all guests in a positive, welcoming manner
- Model Leave No Trace ethics and best practices in stewardship of natural resources
- Maintain professionalism in personal appearance and communication with other staff, chaperones, and participants
- Attend all meetings, trainings, and events as scheduled
- Perform light cleaning and clerical functions
- All other duties as assigned

Essential Duties:
- Ability to walk up to 5 miles a day on uneven terrain
- Ability to work shifts up to 10 hours long
- Ability to carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions, and around campfire smoke
- Ability to bend, stoop, stretch, and kneel
