Work to Protect the Environment in Our Canvassing and Field Manager Positions

Do you want a summer job where you can take on some of the most important problems facing our country? You could help save old growth forests and endangered wildlife from extinction, stop the surge of plastic entering our environment, and ensure we have clean air to breathe and clean water to drink.

We’re hiring people to join us in our work with Environment America and PIRG—building the people power it takes to overcome the powerful opposition standing in the way of solutions to

these problems.

As a canvasser this summer you will:

• Educate and engage citizens on a campaign to make real change on pressing environmental and public interest issues
• Develop essential communication and political advocacy skills
• Build membership and raise money for nonprofit groups in your community
• Earn leadership opportunities, supervising and managing staff in the field
• Gain the experience and connections needed to launch your career in nonprofit and policy work

Pay: Average of $15.00 - $30.00 per hour

Canvassing staff earn a base pay between $15 and $21.30 depending on location, plus can earn 20% of what they raise over our minimum fundraising standard, giving staff the opportunity to earn more than $20 per hour. Staff never earn less than minimum wage for the hours that they work. Depending on performance and location, canvassers earn an average of between $15 to $30 per hour.
