Are you looking for an opportunity to work with Tennessee State Parks? We have an outstanding opportunity to work in a beautiful work environment at T.O. Fuller State Park in Memphis, Tennessee. This park is one of the most historically significant parks in the TSP system and serves as a valued public space for the surrounding community and beyond. With more than 1,000-acres, this park preserves an important Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC)legacy, interprets African American history, and connects visitors to the natural, cultural, and archaeological resources of southwest Memphis. Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university, with preference given to those with degrees in natural or historic resource-based management or Park and Recreation Management, and three years of full-time professional park and conservation experience, of which one year must be supervisory. Additional education or experience may be substituted for the required experience or education, respectively, on a year-for-year basis. In addition, candidates must possess or be willing to possess a state law enforcement commission recognized by the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy. A candidate selected who is not commissioned will be required to successfully complete the academy as a condition of continued employment.

Highlighted Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise, and support park staff; prepare work schedules and assignments; administer performance management; and foster a culture of safety, accountability, service, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage daily park operations, including visitor services, facilities, maintenance, budgeting, purchasing, revenue accountability, planning, reporting, and emergency response.
