These positions are located in Challis, Salmon, Pocatello and Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Duties
- Ensures visitor contact is conducted in a courteous, professional, and friendly manner. Advises visitors concerning safety, fire prevention, amenities available, and proper and authorized uses of recreational facilities.
- Make surveys to locate or collect various types of information, such as soil erosion, deer transects, and water or air quality, that require the application of judgment and knowledge of particular program areas.
- Patrols and inspects facilities ensuring compliance with rules pertaining to parking, campfires, noise level, sanitation, and safety, bringing violations to the attention of visitors and, if appropriate, issues notices of violations.
- Presents a variety of formal and interpretive programs to include but not limited to, orientation talks, environmental education programs, conducted walks, demonstrations, and campfire programs.
- Assists in day-to-day operations at a visitor center or area that provides facilities such as campgrounds, picnic areas, trails, and/or specialized recreational opportunities.
- Prepares recreation areas for visitor use, to include planning, operation, and maintenance. Ensures facilities and customer use areas are free of visible safety hazards. Performs routine facility maintenance and repair.
- Performs building and area security patrol and monitors security and fire alarm systems.
