Position Summary

Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors (OM) is seeking a motivated and passionate Program Coordinator to help connect youth with hunting, fishing, trapping, shooting sports, and conservation education opportunities throughout Pennsylvania and possibly surrounding states.

The Program Coordinator is responsible for recruiting youth participants, volunteer mentors, landowners, and community partners while coordinating outdoor mentoring events across the state. This position works closely with conservation organizations, schools, landowners, agency partners, and volunteers to expand access to meaningful outdoor experiences for youth.

Most work is conducted remotely from a home office using phone, email, and computer-based communication. Occasional  travel throughout Pennsylvania, along with evening and weekend work, is required to support events and programming.

Reports To: Regional Program Manager 

Employment Type: Full-Time (40+/- hours per week)
Location: Remote – Applicant must reside in Pennsylvania
Expected Start Date: Aug 15th 2026 



Required Qualifications

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and the ability to learn and utilize CRM systems.
  • Ability to collect, manage, and report program data.
  • Ability to effectively engage and motivate youth, volunteers, and partners.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Commitment to wildlife conservation, hunting,fishing, trapping  and other outdoor recreation.
  • Most reside in Pennsylvania through employment. 
  • Knowledge of Pennsylvania's outdoor heritage and hunting culture and regulations. 
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Pennsylvania.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Proficient outdoorsman/outdoorswoman.

Essential Responsibilities

Youth, Mentor & Partner Development

  • Recruit and engage youth participants, volunteer mentors, landowners, and community partners.
  • Build and maintain relationships with schools, conservation organizations, agencies, landowners, outfitters, and community groups.
  • Assist participants and mentors with registration, onboarding, training, eligibility requirements, and program participation.
  • Expand opportunities that introduce youth to hunting, fishing, trapping, shooting sports, and conservation education.

Event Planning & Coordination

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate outdoor mentoring events throughout Pennsylvania.
  • Secure locations, permissions, participants, mentors, and necessary resources.
  • Manage event communications, registrations, follow-up, and evaluations.
  • Ensure events are safe, organized, and aligned with organizational goals.

Program Administration & Organizational Support

  • Maintain accurate records, program data, communications, and impact metrics within organizational systems.
  • Prepare reports, collect success stories, photos, testimonials, and other program outcomes.
  • Support outreach, fundraising, sponsorship development, and special projects.
  • Collaborate with staff, volunteers, partners, and community organizations while representing Outdoor Mentors professionally.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the organization's mission.

Pass It On! Outdoor Mentors is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to impacting and enriching lives by passing on outdoor traditions through mentorship. Our mission is to reverse the decline in participation in hunting, fishing, shooting sports, trapping, and conservation by connecting youth and families with volunteer mentors who share their passion for the outdoors.

Through partnerships with landowners, conservation organizations, schools, agencies, and volunteers, we provide hands-on outdoor experiences that build skills, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for our outdoor heritage. In 2025, we hosted 879 mentoring events, served 1,698 youth, and provided more than 10,932 hours of mentorship, creating meaningful opportunities for young people to connect with the outdoors and conservation.
