The Land Conservancy of New Jersey (TLCNJ) is a member-supported nonprofit founded in 1981 that permanently protects New Jersey’s lands, waters, forests, and farms. Through conservation, stewardship, and education, TLCNJ helps safeguard clean water, productive agriculture, sustainable forests, and public access to open space for the state’s 9.55 million residents. TLCNJ has protected 30,000+ acres, stewards 2,000+ acres of preserves, and is nationally recognized for conservation excellence. The organization also advances conservation policy, supports municipalities with planning and grants, and promotes equity through education and partnerships serving diverse communities.

TLCNJ seeks a President to lead its next chapter. The new leader will advance the goal of protecting an additional 30,000 acres by 2050, expand TLCNJ’s impact, and support statewide efforts to conserve 500,000 new acres. This role builds on a strong foundation and works closely with a talented staff, engaged board, and broad coalition of partners.

The ideal candidate brings relationship-driven fundraising, strong financial oversight, and a collaborative approach to leading and developing staff. They communicate clearly, translate technical topics for varied audiences, and partner effectively with boards and external stakeholders. Executive-level achievement in conservation, policy, law, or a related field is required; nonprofit management experience is preferred. A bachelor’s degree is required (advanced degree preferred), along with a genuine connection to nature and comfort working in a hybrid environment.
