Executive Summary
The WYldlife Fund is a Wyoming-based nonprofit conservation organization dedicated to advancing wildlife habitat, research, and education across the state. Founded in 2019 as the official partner foundation to the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, the Fund plays a unique and critical role in aligning public conservation priorities with private philanthropic support. Through strategic grantmaking and strong partnerships, the organization ensures that resources are efficiently deployed to support high-impact, science-driven wildlife conservation efforts. Since its founding, The WYldlife Fund has awarded millions in grants supporting wildlife crossings, habitat restoration, research initiatives, and community-centered education programs across Wyoming.
The WYldlife Fund is entering an important phase of growth and opportunity as it seeks to expand its impact and further solidify its role as a leading conservation partner in the region. The next President will build upon a strong foundation of credibility, partnerships, and programmatic success while advancing a forward-looking vision that deepens alignment with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department and scales the organization’s conservation impact. Key priorities include strengthening strategic partnerships, expanding and diversifying funding streams, enhancing organizational capacity, and leading the continued development and execution of strategic initiatives that support Wyoming’s wildlife and landscapes.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President serves as the organization’s chief executive, strategist, and primary ambassador. This leader is responsible for overall organizational performance, including fundraising, program execution, partnership development, and operational management. The President will work closely with the Board to ensure strong governance and long-term sustainability, while also serving as the primary relationship manager with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department and Commission to align conservation priorities and maximize impact.
The WYldlife Fund seeks a dynamic, mission-driven leader with demonstrated experience in conservation, nonprofit leadership, or a related field. The ideal candidate will bring strong strategic and operational acumen, a track record of successful fundraising and partnership development, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments. This individual will be a collaborative and credible leader who can inspire trust across public agencies, private partners, donors, and communities, while fostering a high-performing, mission-driven organizational culture.
The position offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including an annual salary range of $160,000 to $175,000, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive suite of benefits.
